Spring Beauty Awakening (4 photos)

The forest carpet in Northeast Ohio awakens with the arrival of the spring beauties. A personal favorite, they rise above the leaf bed to spread a delicate white pink mantle on the forest floor. A welcome sight indeed.

Friday Phlox

A spring favorite, ground phlox lays a carpet of delicate spring beauty. I grabbed a few close ups off the front porch, adding a new appreciation worthy of a second look.

I do wonder what the neighbors think when they drive by and I’m scrunched up at ground level with a camera’s nose in the flowers.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ…

Dogwood Bud – Won’t be long now

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,  he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,  whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior

Natural Sepia

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Sepia

I found that a lot of my winter images turned out to be naturally sepia in tone. These images have not been used before but come from some of my other collections this month.

Driftwood Smooth

For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, I found these driftwood pieces collected  in the past from Lake Michigan’s Shore. Worn, weathered, beaten and battered smooth they make a perfect subject. I shot this collection of macro shots using a background of manila braille paper, black cloth and and the back of a legal pad. I  utilized a 20mm and 36mm Extension tube. Enjoy!

When Beauty Fades Grace Remains

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? Matthew 6:28-30
