CFFC – Pink & Magenta (and fluttering flowers too)

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week continues the flower theme with the colors pink and magenta. As I looked back to last summers flower photos, it seems that pink ¬†attraced a great deal of interest from butterflies and bees. So, a bonus comes with my entry this week.

Perseverance

Monday Morning Macro Hike

I set off to take a morning hike before the heat took over the day. My intent was to find Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar or Chrysalis. I did find two caterpillars and a nice collection of other shots of interest.

My hike was in the reclamation area of the Norma Johnson Center.

Morning temperature 73F, clear skies, slight breeze, light dew. Time 8:30 to 9:30

The Butterfly Flower

Five butterflies in one click of the camera. With the milkweed gone to seed and hosting caterpillars, the local Joe-Pye Weed as taken its place as the dominate provider of super food to several butterfly species. These plants are part of the tall grass prairie plants in Ohio’s prairie islands.

Thanks for looking in and enjoying another Floral Friday with Butterflies and Wildflowers.

Hide and Seek

I Played some hide a seek with this well attired Wood Nymph. I won with these photos. The Background of the surrounding flower and foliage adds some allure and mystery to its presence. This Floral Friday entry combines wildflowers and Butterflies. Thanks for looking in!
