Dodging spring showers, I’ve managed to get out a few times to get some spring photos. These mud mashing hikes do yield some rewards to honor the extra weight carried by my mud caked boots.

Wow, is that a redheaded woodpecker? I’ve only seen one in my whole life.
Yes it is. This is the second one I’ve seen this year. Both in protected areas. Always a thrill!
Lovely photos. At least with the mud caked boots, you get in a little extra calorie burn.
