We don’t call them breeches anymore. I haven’t heard the term britches since I was a child, yet this archaic us of the old Dutch men’s leggings captures the caricature well. These pants hung out to dry on the line with their deep feathery green foliage are a bit of early spring whimsy.
I love your photos, such a stark contrast between the flowers and the background.
Thank you. Shooting onto the shadows wide open. Then adjust for more contrast.
Great pictures. These flowers do grow in the mountains near my house. Haven’t been hiking at the right time in years – probably 30 or more years. So, thanks for the memories. Do you have lady slippers where you are? I love those too, and, again, haven’t seen them in about 30 years. I plan on early spring hikes, but haven’t actually managed to go on one yet.
Beautiful! One of my favorite wildflowers.
I think this is the flower that got me hooked – when I realized that there was just a lot of really cool flowers to be discovered.
Absolutely!
I love the still life quality with the dark background. I find these photos of flowers very inspiring. Would you be willing to share info on what lens you are using?
Thank you very much. Most of these images have been shot with a Nikkor 85mm 1:35 macro lens mounted on a Nikon D5200. It was knew to me going into the spring season. I was hoping to use with wildflowers and have enjoyed the results very much.
Thank you. I too enjoy your results very much.
